RISHI VALLEY EDUCATION CENTRE CHITTOOR DISTRICT, ANDHRA PRADESH - 517352 INDIA TEL: 91-8571-280044/280086/280582/280622 EMAIL: OFFICE@RISHIVALLEY.ORG Read about this school in “The Hindu” today. I just got amazed by the facts and decided to look into this matter and googled about it. I ended up in reading about this wonderful school and thought it needs a place in my blog… Rishi Valley Education Centre is run by Krishnamurti Foundation India. It is located in a sheltered valley in the interior of rural Andhra Pradesh, which is located in a drought-prone area, the hill slopes were once sparse in vegetation and the valley floor dotted with an occasional banyan or tamarind tree. The site of the school, chosen by Krishnamurti for its remarkable atmosphere of peace and serenity, is an undulating landscape of fields, rain-fed streams and scattered villages, surrounded by ancient granite hills with striking rock formations. Years of sustained reforestation and water conservation ...

Blogger is blocked!!!

This news about blogger being blocked by ISPs just came to my ears through my friend. But then I found lot of websites refering about this. Here I found a list of ISPs that has blocked the web sites. This is denial of freedom of speech and the right to express one's views. When did Indian Government changed their views about being democratic???? Luckily till now my ISP has not blocked blogger. Few comments and info about this are found here and here

My Days!!!!

Come and meet me- I am your YESTERDAY. Long was the day, and long was the way. Forget me not,b'coz I was your Day. Come and meet me- I am your TODAY. I stand in your doorway, knock! And I will show you the way. Do what you can to make it gay. For all too soon, It will go away. Come and meet me- I am your TOMORROW. I'm a bit broad and narrow, But when you find my sight I am the one who brings A ray of light............
A man is lucky to be the first love of a woman. A woman is lucky to be the last love of a man. -Charles Dickens What an exact statement!!!!!

Few toasts to my friends

I would like to raise toasts to few people!!!! It was my friend’s birthday yesterday and after many years of messing the plans, I made it this time. Every year her birthday plans will go on hay fire and this time unexpectedly it went on well. Happy Birthday Vishnu Priya !!!! My friends Jagadish and Barath are going to their respective offices from this Monday. No more leisure and sleepy days for those busy bees. Cheers to both of them!!!! All the Best for the future Jagadish and Barath. It was Barath’s treat yesterday and his meticulous plans worked out very well. We really enjoyed the day and food. It was after long time we had a chance to be together. Thanks Barath.

10 things I hate the most.

Barath wrote about 10 things he hates the most and wanted me to follow the suit. So here comes that list. Hate being compared with someone else on what ever grounds it may be. Prepare for something at the last moment. See someone crying. Inattentiveness from my friends to my requests. Waking me up early on Sundays. People without guts. Being cheated. Compelling me to do something that I am least interested about. Football-the most unruly game. Laziness.

Kerala Trip

Day 1: Started off by 4:00 AM in the morning and reached Guruvayoor by 7:30 PM. We took many breaks to reduce the stiffness and for lunch, tea. Driving through Kerala was the most difficult part as the drivers there were rash. We were in a dilemma about the trip as it was raining heavily in Kerala but to our luck there was no rain and so driving through small lanes of Kerala was not a problem Day 2: Guruvayoor was less crowded and had darshan twice. Started from there to native- Chelakara [Trissur] by 3:00 PM and the drive were wonderful with lush green forests on both sides and winding roads. Reached relative’s place and had hot tea and walked around 4 kms to my ancestral home. Quite a dilapidated place! Full of rubber trees and weeds! A gardener would have to toil hard to make that place livable. The walk was through thotu varambu [A walkway on the banks of rivulet] I really enjoyed the walk. Mom got sentimental and she was showing me the ground and places she spent her summer vacat...

Excited!!!!! :)

I am totally excited about the Kerala trip. Stop! Why should I be??? This is not the first time I am going to Kerala? The reason is I have been planning this trip for past 3 years and every time I make arrangements and my exams will be right on that date. So this time no exams can spoil my trip. Wait; there is another reason for being excited. This time the traveling mode is also different. We [My uncle & me] decided to get to Kerala in car. So this is going to be my first long drive. [Longest drive] Mom also has planned to visit our family deity temple. It’s considered to be too old and I have never visited that temple. But the news report about heavy rain in Kerala is making things difficult for us. May be we complete the trip successfully….. Phir milenge break ke badh.

Men are not MMM

I meant to put this as comment to my friend's post but then decided against it since it was too long. I am just giving reasons for his accusations , so to get a clear picture plz go thr' his post. Here goes my list. 1)Women don't take the option of staying at home unless her husband says so. Men [not generalizing] are selfish enough to make her stay at home so that he gets things done on time. 2)Men can study at any point of life but woman cannot do that once if she is bound to a family. 3)Girl’s parents need to spend more at the time of marriage and so they decide to compensate that in education. To avoid this Government provides free education. 4)Women are ready to share men’s burden provided they are given enough support. [I meant mental support] 5)Women would love to take care of her parents but societal rules does not allow that. 6)People misinterpret women's nature of seeing things. She checks on family background to know what kinda person he is and that is not t...

Salwars or Shirts????????

Dress doesn’t matter the number matters here. Coming to the actual post; was casually speaking about dresses to my friend and he got aghast with the number of sets I said I have. I was expecting this reaction, since it was not the first time I am getting this reaction. Once when I informed my friend that I am on my way to T.Nagar, he complained I shop too much [spendthrift]. Does going to T.Nagar refer to shopping only for me???? I never knew it had such an explanation. And now in this discussion, the immediate response was number of pants and shirts in his custody. Unluckily guys; counting only on the formal wear get few options to choose from-either checked or stripped or plain and a few selection of colors either grey or blue or black or brown or shades that vary with these colors. So obviously the number doesn’t exceed 10 or 15. Moreover the stripes and checks make no big difference. And when gals say a huge count [according to guys] the fact is that they have variety to choose fro...

30-05-06:-Not a gr8 day

Had series of unlucky incidents; Started off by 10:00 to grandma’s place Bus came only half an hour later It was already moving too slowly and got break down jst in the middle of no where Walked for 10 minutes to reach nearest bus stop None of the buses were stopping and finally had to argue with the conductor to help us board another bus Finally reached the place by 12:15 Took an auto to grandma’s house Auto driver refused to go into the street for the bargained price and left us in main road Again walked for another 15 minutes in scorching sun When I got there, it was EB maintenance shut down So didn’t have cold water to quench thirst But then had good lunch and came back home with no great happenings Isn’t it a horrible day altogether?????

A story on........

An old version of story.... The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant's a fool and laughs, dances & plays the summer away.Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold. The modern version ...... The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant's a fool and laughs, dances & plays the summer away. Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving. BBC, CNN, EURO-NEWS, NDTV, FOX NEWS show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. The World is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be that this po...

Confused to core!!!! :(

When offered God showers But when wanted Things move away If life comes as wishes Humans forget the God’s power Now too cluttered With life’s options Paths unraveled before me, Welcomes me with happiness Will things go per wish? Or that leads to ditch? Too confused to decide but Still clear before my eyes, Is this what life has to offer me?

10 simple pleasure of life.....

I was tagged by Harini and now will write on 10 pleasures of life 1. Love to stand and get drenched in rain, though the consequences I face; especially my mom’s wrath is horrible. 2. Driving through winding lanes with greenery on both sides. 3. Lay cuddled in bed on a lazy afternoon and read Enid Blyton’s story books [sounds kiddish???] 4. Spend time with friends by talking sweet nothings. 5. Looking at old photos and going down the memory lane. 6. When I think I am tired and get to bed after dinner and find myself wide awake looking at the roof of my room silently…those silent moments. 7. Listening bed time stories from my mom. 8. The high fives exchanged when the event that we prepared for months comes out successful. 9. Cute forwards from friends that remind that u hav people out there to share your feelings. 10. Last few months of college life that provided me with many new good friends. The pleasures I listed may be very few of the 1000's I have in mind. I shortlisted the one...

Hurray!!! am an Engineer.

Finally finished my exams; the only pre–requisite that was left for me to become an engineer. Now will have plenty of jobless days before they call me.

Where else will this happen!!!!

The Jaya TV’s news report “கலைஞரின் கைமாறு “ about the connections between Nalini, the main accused in Rajiv Gandhi Assassination and DMK leader was a gud job by the reporters. Leaving behind the political factors the fact that made me write this blog- Nalini. May 21st 1991[My parent’s wedding Anniversary]; the day dawned with news reporting about cruel death of Rajiv Gandhi. The LTTE’s first trial to kill our Prime Minister at Airport failed and Thenmuli Rajaratnam A.K.A Dhanu the suicide bomber succeeded to accomplish that in Chennai. Nalini and Murugan were at Chennai to get information about the movements and the plans. When the Jain’s commission submitted the report, all the 26 accused, including five women, have been sentenced to death in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case. Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act court Special Judge V Navaneetham also held the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam and its supremo Velupillai Prabhakaran responsible for the assassination. ...

Jarugandi Lethandi

Had a superb darshan at Tirupathy, nearly stood at sanctum sanctorum for 4 solid minutes with no pushing and Jarugandi. Really was lucky for this superb darshan.Only thing that was horrible was the soaring climate with 42 degrees.
