Continuing Barath’s post, this week’s Sangamam was truly amazing. It was about National Award winning songs of SPB and Chitra. The songs were amazing and one thing that should be brought to notice is that for a person who has around 35000 songs in bag got ONLY ONE National Award for Tamil. To be truthful, the song to which he was awarded is something quite ordinary when there are umpteen songs which he sang worth National Awards. May be late recognition is our specialty. An award on time has its own value. Many times the awards are given posthumously where that just serves as a momento. His work should be given timely recognition atleast in the later years.
