Weekend Outings.

Oops!!Exams postponed.I started pondering where to go atleast to give a short break. Finally convinced my parents for a drive towards a village called Tamaripakkam, around 35 kms from my place where Chinmaya's mission Temple is located. So thought of venturing out to that place since itz not an usual one where we normally roam around.

A nice and calm place away from citie's dust and noise .It was exactly like a village shown in films with paddy fields on both sides of the wide highway. The monsoon has caused a wonderful effect on the weather and the paddy fields. The fresh air made us to pull down our car windows which is normally pulled up to avoid dust.Mom packed our lunch so that it wuld not b necessary to drive back again quickly. We reached the place around 12:30.The 65ft tall Temple and Satsang Hall is designed in the form of a Shiva Lingam. A Sphatika Lingam - an 'endless' form in crystal encrusted with diamonds and the granite linga was consecrated by the pouring of water from eight holy rivers of our land. Abishekam of this Sphatika Lingam is done once a year on Mahasivarathri, while daily puja is performed on a small granite Lingam. Lord Sarveshwara is believed to take the avatar of Dhanavantri every Sunday - Hence a free medical clinic is held every Sunday for the villagers of the neighbourhood. We roamed around in the parks and the places nearby and started back to home around 3:30.

That was a nice drive after a long time without signals and snarlling traffic. Finally a break from monotonous study schedule.hmm now hav to wait till xms r ovr for plan to native.

Hmmm... on reading this post I got a bit nostalgic. It reminds me of the days I spent in Tiruannamalai. I miss the Arunachaleswara temple, its praharas, Pond steps... Im thinking abt going to Tiruannamalai for Deepam this time.
