The Lost Paradise - Kashmir
Cradled in the lap of majestic mountains of the Himalayas, Kashmir is the most beautiful place on earth. On visiting the Valley of Kashmir, Jehangir, one of the Mughal emperors, is said to have exclaimed: "If there is paradise anywhere on earth, it is here, it is here, it is here."
Kashmir has a myth and history, language and literature, art and architecture, culture and tradition, and religion and ritual that is distinct, yet similar to the civilization of the Indian subcontinent. In this once happy valley with its peace-loving and crime-free people, Buddhism reached the zenith of its glory, Hinduism extended its philosophical frontiers into Shaivism and Shaktism, and Islam achieved a new meaning and practice in its tradition of Sufism. And, till very, very recent times it was paradise on earth. But now the paradise has been turned into hell.

Jammu & Kashmir, the Crown of India has few interesting facts. I have just listed them.
A state having 2 capitals. Srinagar as its summer capital, and Jammu its winter capital.
Kashmiri people have dual citizenships. [Courtesy: Wiki]
Outsiders (Non- Kashmiris) cannot buy even a single feet of land.
In early days if a kashmiri girl marries an outsider, she loses her citizenship of Kashmir.
A state with it’s own flag.
Here is a video clip displaying the lost paradise of India.
This short film is produced by KOA President, Deepak Ganju based on his visit to Kashmiri Hindu Refugee camps in March 2006.
Kashmiri Hindus were forced to leave their homes due to violence, terror and fear unleashed in Kashmir valley since 1980's by Islamic terrorists. The result has been the displacement of almost the entire Kashmiri Hindu population from the valley.
Even after 17 years of forced exodus, the Kashmiri Hindu community has not only been deprived of their ancestral homes, but also their roots and a place of belonging. The film depicts the present condition of some of these community members.
We acknowledge the contribution of Ashok Pandit ji who allowed use of a brief 3 minute presentation from his film "And the world remained Silent"

- Yes, we have lost this paradise. I have heard people saying that some of the places are absolutely scenic…but today it is totally inaccessible

Yeah I have also heard about thescenic places there. Badly wanted to visit those places atleast when it is accessible.
@Raju
I agree. I had the same notion. It was Nehru and Patel's mistake. But not tp blame them. They almost got depressed at the huge amount of killing going on and didn't want another big massacre there. But what they couldn't acheive I think evan another 50 years or war cannot acheive.
